We always see
pirates put black bandages over their eyes. We may think that the pirate lost
his eye, so he covered it. However, the reason behind covering eyes with this
bandage is to have a clear vision in darkness. In case of being exposed to
sunlight, then moving to a shadowy or slightly dark place, vision will not be
clear as lens of eyes are widened or narrowed according to the amount of light
falling on them.
Thus, pirates
invented this bandage to one of their eyes covered in light; when he came into
a dark place, he remove the bandage to be able to see in darkness and avoid
surprises!
